Registration has begun for our December 4th race!
Don't miss out on our 2nd annual race - We are planning for it to be bigger and better than last years!

Run For the Redfish is a certified course featuring a 1/2 marathon, 5k and kids 1 mile fun run benefits bringing awareness about our coastal redfish and it's habitat. This year's run will be held on December 4th, 2010 and starts and ends in beautiful Pier Park.

Last year, over 600 racers participated and plans for 2010 are to take this signature event to the next level. We'd like to thank our sponsors and volunteers who support this race. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the course in December!

Sincerely,
Run for the Redfish Staff

Help “Save Our Gulf ”!

The oil spill that flowed into the Gulf of Mexico put unprecedented strain on an already stressed marine ecosystem. While the responsible party, BP, is supposed to reimburse the affected fishermen and efforts have already begun to clean the coastline, little attention is being paid to the Gulf fisheries.

Bluefin tuna have been commercially overfished to the point of near-collapse and this spill directly impacts their spawning grounds. Tarpon, snook and redfish, whose populations were adversely affected by an unusually cold winter, will experience further stress as the oil spreads along the coastline. Even reef fish such as grouper and snapper will suffer as oil settles on the reefs.

The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation aims to fund inspired research that seeks answers to how the oil is impacting the Gulf fisheries. You can help by purchasing Guy's custom design "Save Our Gulf" t-shirts and poster or by making a donation to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation "Save Our Gulf" fund. Proceeds will benefit Gulf fisheries research.

“It is our collective responsibility to conserve the marine environment and maintain the biodiversity of the Gulf.”

Guy Harvey
